Apple Retro Themed Easter Egg Discovered

A Blast From the Past

Our senior tech analyst has confirmed the discovery of an exciting Easter Egg on iPhone devices, to celebrate more than 30 years of apple computers. Warp back in time with a classic Macintosh theme to relive the magic on your iPhone. This trick will work on the iPhone 5s and newer devices. To activate the retro theme, follow these steps:

Go to Settings -> General -> Date & Time -> “Set Automatically” off. Change date to Jan 1, 1970 (Scroll up to get to year 2000, then go back, into date settings again, repeat until it reaches 1970) -> Reboot.

  1. Yea you guys are going to brick the devices of the people who actually read your content. Try having journalistic integrity and fact checking the s*** you run into instead of just blindly posting whatever you find for more views.

  2. Why do people say that every Iphone easter egg brick your phone you f****** trolls? I litterary see this stuff on every new easter eggs.

  3. I cannot believe after nearly twenty years I can look back on my golden age of computing. Sipping my morning tea, while reading newsgroups about poverty in africa on my Apple IIc. thanks Steve Cook or Tem Jobs or whoever you are!!!!

  4. I just ordered a Global Hypercolor t-shirt from Amazon so i could get that whole ’80’s feeling’ when using my new retro iphone 6s!!!

  5. Why do people say it bricks iPhones? I love this theme, been using it for 2 days straight, someone help get out of it, it’s so good!

  6. Dont do this you will have to buy a new iphone
Setting 1/1/70 as a date essentially zeroes out the system. The software doesn’t know what to do, and everything stops cold. Your iphone is now bricked and you have to buy a new one. Take this article down immediately.

  7. This does not work I tried it today and it shut my phone down, what it does it it tries to set your phone to a format that is non existent, your iPhone is unware of its non existent and will continue to search for it which if left to do long enough will actually fry the inside components of your iPhone due to overheating. This is a scam and will not work, I work for Mac authority and had around 85 people come in my store recently to get this issue fixed which we can do as long as you haven’t cried anything for 20 to 40 bucks so save yourself some cash and don’t even try it.
